slow more, floor

… is a moving meditation dance practice. Some call it freestyle, some call it erotic dance, some call it sensual embodiment (I am all three some peoples), but *today* MOVING MEDITATION feels most accurate and I am TIRED of TRYING just kidding here comes more trying:

…is a practice of curiosity, of meeting your meat-sack and nervous system exactly where they are, of discovering a range of feeling and pleasure through connecting to the ground, breath, and (all six) senses

…is a doorway to finding deeper expression and vocabulary in more structured modalities: more floorwork for pole dancing, more pleasure for burlesque, more sensuality for heels, more flow for contemporary, more authenticity in the 5678 of it all

…is oriented around how movement feels, not how it looks (no mirrors, low lights), and oopsie-doopsie is also hot af

…is a container for women and non-binary identities cool with sometimes being referred to as a witch and by sometimes I mean always because we are and we know it and please don’t hex me I’m fully hexed

…is a foundations-all levels-we-begin-again-and-again dance class, let’s get those building blocks more like building blobs let’s blob #onlyblobs

Class structure: opening circle (land), movement (warm & build vocab), moving mantras (movement loops, repetition as ritual), closing circle (ground)

Please wear: whatever you feel comfortable moving freely in -- layers help for the flow and unfurl, kneepads encouraged to protect boney bits, no nudity to protect other bits (including class & community safety)

Please bring: water bottle & yoga mat, open mind, anything else that encourages comfort for floor contact (fuzzy blanket, fuzzy socks, let’s get fuzzy)
